I so enjoy creating handcrafted jewelry! For years my favorite stone to work with was turquoise combined with sterling silver findings. In addition to turquoise and I often incorporate pendants created by Native American or those imported into drop style necklaces. This is included in the item description. I also combined turquoise with other gemstones such as carnelian, amethyst, tiger's eye as well as coral and amber as well. I generally use sterling silver findings in my jewelry. Lately I've used plated beads in less expensive jewelry such as those in the Bling Bling Category.
Dyed stones such as Candy Jade allow for creating some unusual jewelry. Candy jade is an interesting stone made of what the Chinese refer to as "Bai Yu," or White Jade by its common name. This type of natural stone is hard and white or semi-translucent white in color. After being cut and polished, the stones go through a complex color enhancing process, penetrating from surface to center with wonderful colors, thus their common name, Candy Jade. Candy jade can have a marbled appearance or nearly the same color throughout. The colors are often bright like magenta, fuschia, ruby-red, green, lavender, pink, purple and more! By the way, lots of dyed magnesite is being sold as turquoise.
Magnetic jewelry is popular and for many, including myself, it seem to help alleviate joint pain. I create magnetic jewelry that is attractive and functional. Opinions vary as to the true effectiveness of wearing magnetic jewelry, so select my jewelry for it's beauty and originality and/or for possible pain mitigation. The magnetic clasps I use are rated at 5000 Gauss. I don't use a clasp when creating magnetic jewelry wraps, rather the super strength beads (2500 - 3000 Gauss) hold the wrap together. I use both regular and super strength beads in my other jewelry. Beads referred to as pearl are magnetic beads with a pearl coating. The magnetic jewelry is featured in another cart: My Handcrafted Magnetic Jewelry
Bling Bling Jewelry! Lately it seems that the quality of lower priced glass crystal beads has improved so much that there are comparable, in my opinion, to far more costly crystal beads. I bought lots of these amazing beads and created beautiful bling, bling jewelry. To keep prices low I used mostly silver and gold plated finding rather than my usual sterling silver and gold-filled beads. I also used freshwater pearls in combination with the glass beads.
